About NWF

What We Do

Northumberland Wind Field Inc

Between 2015 and 2018 NWF built two (2) sustainable wind energy projects to produce clean, green sustainable electricity for use in local rural communities. The local community benefits derived from the construction of the Avondale and Fitzpatrick Mtn projects are:

  • Local Generation: on Doliber Mountain in Avondale, Pictou County, Nova Scotia
  • Local Generation: on Fitzpatrick Mountain near Scotsburn, Pictou County, Nova Scotia
  • Local Use: local communities receive their electricity directly from these projects
  • Local Economy: local services used, and municipal taxes are paid
  • Contracting of local businesses for project construction
  • Contracting of local businesses for project maintenance, and for services as needed
  • Provision of a means for the community to become involved and have ownership in renewable energy
  • Provision of Offerings of Shares (1) increased the amount of capital reinvested in Nova Scotia and, (2) gave project ownership to investors
